After enabling the app and configuring the desired app settings, the next step is to create a project link. Before you start creating project links please make sure to understand the following implications:
Info |
---|
InfoYou can create multiple project links from one Master project (e.g. MAS can have project links to LP1 and LP2Versions/Components are synchronised from one Master/Parent project to one or multiple Linked/Child project(s) It is not possible to have project links to create a project link with a project that is already linked or acts as a Master project. For instance, if we have a link between MAS and LP1 we cannot create a project link to MAS or LP1 with LP2 as the Master project/Parent or Linked/Child project. Synchronisation is effective immediately, meaning that the app will start synchronising versions/components as soon as a project link is saved. In case of simple synchronisation, the app will delete any versions/components in the Linked project(s) that do not exist in the Master project

TipTo make sure you fully understand the impact that Version & Component Sync has on your projects, we advise you to first test our add-on prior app prior to configuring project links in a production environment. Make sure you are fully aware of how the add-on configuration works and that you have confirmed that it is configured and working as expected. In order to test our add-on, create two or more dummy projects in Jira and link them using Version Sync, or use a staging environment the first time you are configuring a project link.app please take the following steps: Create the following projects in Jira Create a couple of versions/components in both the Master & LP2 Create a project link from project Master to LP1 & LP2 using Version/Component Sync Check the different projects to see what happens
